Early Influencers

In terms of early influences, I've loved romance for as far back as I can recall. In my teen years it was books like "Seventeenth Summer" by Maureen Daly and "Mr. & Mrs. Bo Jo Jones" by Ann Head that stirred my imagination. As a young adult, Harlequin Presents had me devouring anything written by Penny Jordan and Carole Mortimer. Fast forward a number of years. In 2015, as RWA President, it was my great honor to present the Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award to Carole on behalf of Romance Writers of America.
In terms of current influencers, there are too many to list. There are so many good romance authors out there writing such fabulous stories that I know I'll never lack for reading material. What am I reading right now? Why, it's First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
