The Youth Elixir is essentially a coming-of-age novel, a story of a young woman trying to find her place in the world. This book is a lovely story that will put a smile on the reader's face.

What happened when she did - she chose a new name, Emily Curtis and a new life. As Emily she was going to have to watch "Tilly" pass away and take on her new persona. Emily would be able to live a younger life with the knowledge she accumulated over her 92 years, but that was it. She was going to have to start all over and discover whatever resources she could to survive. With some effort, she was able to do just that. The GraceTown series is interesting with the different "magical" twists that each character is given. How they respond is very intriguing. I don't know how I would have responded in Tilly's case, but it's kind of fun to think about. This is an enjoyable series and I look forward to each book.”

“Another fascinating paranormal, stand-alone GraceTown story. Fun to meet new characters and reunite with characters we have met in the other books. But if you haven’t read the others, you will still get to know the previous characters, as well as new characters.
An older character and icon in the community is given a second chance at a new and youthful life. Now a young adult, she has much to learn and experience, and goes after both with gusto. She meets new friends, is reacquainted with older friends, finds a new career, and discovers the possibilities of new love. All the while she discovers the wonders of her town through new eyes. It was fun to see her growth as a character, now in a new body with a different mindset, as she traversed both the unknown and the known.
As with the first four books in this series, all stand-alones, Kirk kept me guessing on how the story would resolve itself until the very end. Another winner in a great series.”
