“Summer in Good Hope is the second book in the series. This book is great and it was hard to put it down. The story is about Primrose, Max and her twins. She lost her husband two years ago in an accident, she vows to not date until her sons are grown up and on there own. Until she moves back to Good Hope and moves next door to Max. With the help of her sister and a close friend Prim and Max are paired up to work on the 4th of July Celebration. While working to make the sure the day goes as planned, they fall in love. But her mother-in-law has other plans, she over hears the twins ask their mother to make Max their daddy and bring up issues she saw in the marriage between Prim and her son. Prim and Max argue about the urn with her deceased husbands ashes and go there separate ways. She is finally ready to let her husband go and spread his ashes with her mother-in-law.
Read this book to see how it end. I like that this book has a happy ending and has real live situations. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars.”

“I first came across Cindy Kirk when a friend gave me the book Christmas in Good Hope. I loved it! So when an opportunity opened up for me to read an advance copy of Summer of Good Hope I jumped on it.
Primrose Bloom lost her husband two years ago. Left to raise her twin boys on her own, she decides to return to her hometown. It's here she once again connects with Max Brody. The two of them had once been close. They end up working together on the Fourth of July parade which means they have to see each other regularly.
I loved these two! They were perfect for each other. Max was wonderful with the twins. They didn't remember much about their dad and are drawn to Max. He plays catch with them and tells them bedtime stories and he's always there for Prim.
I also enjoyed the family dynamics in the story. Prim's sisters play a part as do her in-laws. Because Prim's husband was born with cystic fibrosis, his parents dotted on him. His death hit them especially hard. As such, Prim's mother-in-law resents Max's presence in Prim's life and tries to come between them.
This was a simple read that kept me turning the pages. I hated to see it end. Hopefully we'll see more of these characters in future books. If you're looking for one of those heartwarming stories that leave you feeling good at the end then this one is definitely for you!”

“Did you ever read a book and want to move to the fictional setting? Did you ever want to move next door to the main characters? Well, after reading this book, I want to do both.
This is the second in the Good Hope series. Several aspects of this book makes it a standout read. The characters are very small town America, and I felt like I was reading about a new neighbor. There was just enough suspense to make the hero look brave, and the heroine caring and responsible. The best thing about these books so far is the underlying message that is not preached to the reader, but is gently related through the actions of the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves true, contemporary romance.”
