“Imagine, You are laying in a hospital bed holding your husbands hand knowing you have no control over dying and leaving him and your precious daughter. Remembering your cruel stepmother you beg him not to marry until your baby girl is grown. You smile as he agrees then relax and draw your last breath. That is how I imagine it was when Seth agreed to his wifes dying wish. Years pass and when his daughter Ivy is in an accident, he asks an old friend Lauren to move in and help care for her while injuries heal. Lauren is also his sisters best friend and happy to help the family. In time Seth discovers the sexy friend is mending his lonely heart. Lauren discovers while residing at the house that Seth and Ivy have taken up residence in her heart. But what of his promise that he is determined to keep? Wonderful book that you should read and also a great gift for someone you love this holiday.”

A selection of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews from Amazon and GoodReads

“A promise that should be broken! I love this book. This is about Seth, Ivy and Lauren. Well Ivy is Seth’s daughter, but she has a huge part in the book which I love. Lauren is there to finish her dissertation and complete her Ph.D. before moving on to the real world of jobs. She wants to spend time with her friends who recently married thanks to her own research, but Seth who is her best friend’s brother asked her to move in to help care for Ivy because she was in an accident and now in a cast on her arm and leg, she agreed thinking maybe there was also something there between Seth and her. Of course, Santa kissing Lauren is where she discovered that Seth was a true gentleman and wanted to raise his daughter the right way – no flings in his house!!! BTW – the Santa scene was AWESOME!

Of course, you must enjoy this book as it speaks volumes when parenting is just a chore to some while a blessing to others. Ivy lost her mother to cancer, but she had more love in the short years that she shared with her than Lauren did in the three decades with her own parents. Lauren learned that there was more than providing for a child with just money and academia.”

*****

“Lauren wasn’t the only one learning in this book. Seth learned that the promise he made his dying wife wasn’t what she really wanted or asked of him. He also learned that his possessiveness toward Lauren was more than just affection. Adam and Kim learned something as well with Lauren’s help – I do have to say that I didn’t like Adam to much in the book, but he ended up realizing that there was more to the small town than the civilization world that he talked about.”

“I have always loved Cindy’s books because they give you the feeling of HOME! This book covered the loss of a spouse and having a single dad raise a daughter. After the child had a accident she needed a care giver to help care for her. The romance story is so good. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.Yet another good read, this is a very good series and love to read how all the characters continue on.”
